The Kruger National Park in South Africa is famous for its intensity of African wildlife. This area is home to some 33 species of amphibian, 115 species of reptile and 140 species of mammal. About 470 bird species have been recorded, more than half of Southern Africa's total. Kruger National Park is special and unique because of its proportions, like a small country, the park covers 20 000 square kilometres of wilderness.
