Quad Biking
Set out along beautiful trails, winding your way through the thick bush of the Sabie Valley. Feel the rush of adrenaline as you floor the pedal to ascend a steep slope or duck to dodge an oncoming branch. Discover the beauty of the region, passing through lush plantations and into the African bush. The tour is led by a qualified guide who will help you identify the local birdlife and any animals encountered.
The trail can last between 2 to 3 hours with several stops to rest and take in the scenic views over the Sabie River. At the end, rest in the dappled shade of a tree overlooking one of the regions picturesque waterfalls and have a refreshing, tasty picnic lunch.
White Water River Rafting
The lower-Sabie River is one of the best introductions newbie's can have to white water rafting. Anyone can take part, including children, depending on the level of the water. The trips take place on inflatable rafts, and groups can range in size up to 40 people. The course covers 8km and is suitable for novice rafters. There are 20 rapids, the hardest of which is grade 3, which is considered easy.
The excursion is a wonderful way to take in the beauty of the river system and spot some of the many different species of birds which live in the area. There will be moments in-between the rapids where you can swim in the clean water and attempt to wave surf and boogie board. This is a fun day out for families especially those with teenagers! To round off the experience, a picnic lunch will be laid on.
All safety equipment such as life-jackets and helmets are provided.
Abseiling
Live life on the edge and delight in challenging yourself by abseiling down Makuhlu, a 27 metre boulder that is perfect for abseiling. Hike up the back of the mountain and enjoy sweeping views of the Sabie River into the Kruger National Park before securely attaching yourself to the guide rope and bounding down the rock face for a thrilling experience.
Zip Line
South Africa offers some of the best zip line experiences in the World and if abseiling doesn't get your blood pumping, how about the attempting the zip line? Imagine speeding out into the air at speeds of up to 100km per hour, and over 77 meters off the ground. Feel the rush and hear the wind whistling in your ears as you rush towards the ground. This is another great adventure activity which is a great addition to a safari in the Kruger National Park.
Mountain Boarding
What is mountain boarding? You ask. Think of it as skate-boarding down the mountainside in the manner of sand boarding, just with a few more obstacles. This is a thrilling adventure for thrill seekers looking for something different. The activity takes place on forestry roads and you pass through some scenic forests.
Start the day off with a training session on the gentle grass slopes to help you find your balance before taking on the more rugged mountain paths. Safety helmets and pads are provided. It is recommended that you bring along some old clothes such as jeans for this exciting activity.
